Finding Your Former High School or College Classmates
Statistics tell us that after 25 years, roughly 70% of your former high school classmates still reside in the state the high school was based in. To find school classmates, you can contact your high school alumni association (if they have one), try online phone books, use google to search for names, or you can use alumni search and people search sites. You can also create an online meeting place for your class which could eventually lead to an actual reunion.

High School Class Reunion
A class reunion usually takes place around a significant anniversary date a the graduation year. Popular anniversaries are 10 and 25 years. So if you graduated in 1988, chances are high there'll be a high school reunion for your class in 2013. If you're not residing in the same state as your former high school anymore, it would still be great if you're able to make it to your high school reunion as it's often a great time to catch up and reminisce about the good 'ol days with your former classmates.

Classmate
A classmate or class mate is a member of the same class at your school. A classmate is also referred to as a class fellow, school fellow, or more commonly, a schoolmate.

Locations for a Class Reunion
The majority of class reunions take place within miles of your former college or high school. Due to the fact that - even after 25 years - the majority of people will still live relatively close to their former high school, attendance should inrease significantly.

Planning a Class Reunion
If you're the one planning a class reunion, it's best to start as much as 1 year prior to the planned reunion date. This should give you enough time to locate the majority of your former classmates, find a good venue to hold the reunion at, and send out invitations well ahead of time. The latter is especially important for people living out of state as they'll often have to request time of or even save up money for the plane ticket. It's also a good idea to send a 'save the date' or other form of reminder about 3 weeks before the reunion date.

So where should I start looking for old friends and classmates? My advice is to set up an online reunion site through a service such as mylife.com (formerly known as reunion.com). This will make it much easier for any of your former class mates to reach you but also to keep all information related to the reunion organized and in a central location.
